CFB DeptHITS: Thursday, October 24
A look at the top news impacting our depth charts over the last 24 hours. Includes a primer on the initial release of the SEC Availability Report posted last night.
We make hundreds of tiny tweaks, adjustments and edits to our live 134 FBS depth charts over at CFBDepth.com. This feature is designed to pull out the biggest news and “need to knows” from across the landscape. Today, we’ll get you all caught up and dive into the SEC Availability Report released last evening…
Connecticut ::: Starting LG Ben Murawski requires surgery on his knee and will be out for the season. Capable backup Kyle Juergens will fill in and has a scratched cornea himself but should be good to go week nine against Rice.
Oregon ::: TE Terrance Ferguson is expected back 'relatively quick' from his appendectomy procedure performed prior to week eight. We don't really know what that means, but we are thinking likely doubtful for this week and then moving to questionable for the rest of the season.
UCF ::: DE Kaven Call has announced he will enter the transfer portal and leave the Knights. Call joins a host of players moving on from the program and hints at some unusual behavior from the staff.
Syracuse ::: WR Trebor Pena is now looking doubtful to be able to ramp up and go on Thursday here in week nine.

Kentucky ::: Starting RT Gerald Mincey is listed as 'out' on the report; moving Malachi Wood into a starting role there. We don't see much of a drop off in production based on our data. RB Demie Sumo-Karngbaye is added as 'questionable', joining fellow RB Chip Trayanum in that status.
Auburn ::: K Alex McPherson is officially off the injury report. Towns McGough kicked last week at Mizzou. We're putting them as a split to see who gets the duties here in week nine, but we think McPherson will re-gain the role. WR Caleb Burton III is listed as "doubtful" on the report.
Texas A&M ::: LG Chase Bisontis was injured in week eight and is listed as 'out' on the initial report for week nine. TJ Shanahan likely moves over from his backup center spot to start and play a good amount at that spot. WR Terry Bussey is removed from the report and is healthy going into this week against LSU.
LSU ::: S Jordan Allen is listed as "out" on the initial injury report. WR Chris Hilton Jr. is "questionable" as we await his much anticipated debut.
Vanderbilt ::: A bunch of new names added as 'questionable' on the week 9 report for the 'Dores -- including RB Sedrick Alexander, TE Eli Stowers, CB Martell Hight and DE Linus Zunk. We'll keep an eye on the updates as the week goes on.
Texas ::: Starting FS Andrew Mukuba was banged up in week eight game and is listed as 'doubtful' for week nine. They will ask some others in the secondary to take on larger roles to fill that void. WR Isaiah Bond is also on the list as 'questionable' and now starting RB Quintrevion Wisner is listed as probable with a small lingering issue.
Alabama ::: FS Keon Sabb will miss the Mizzou game as he is listed as out as he has a pretty severe foot injury that may keep him out a while. DeVonta Smith avoided injury in week eight and likely takes on more of a role as he is not listed on the report. Reserve LB Cayden Jones will also miss the game. Everybody else falls off as the Tide are healthy.
Missouri ::: WR Mookie Cooper was a bit of a surprise add to the Tigers Availability report as he is doubtful to go in Tuscaloosa. QB Brady Cook and RB Nate Noel are also listed as doubtful. Plus, four safeties added as questionable -- all of which are averaging a 1/2 snap load currently. Starting LG Cayden Green and TE Brett Norfleet also listed with a questionable tag.
Mississippi State ::: Three new defensive contributors - De'Monte Russell, LB Zakari Tillman and DL Trevion Williams - showed up as questionable on the first availability report for the Bulldogs. All three are in the rotation on the defensive side of the ball.
Ole Miss ::: Not a whole lot of surprises on the initial report for week 9. Good news is that DL Princely Umanmielen is listed as 'probable' for the OU game. WR Tre Harris remains qusetionable for the Rebels.
Oklahoma ::: The usual suspects were on the Sooners initial SEC Availability Report (WRs Jalil Farooq, Nic Anderson and Andrel Anthony remain out), and were joined by a "doubtful" tag on third string RB Gavin Sawchuk. The good news is that C Branson Hickman is not listed and appears ready to return after a one-game absence.
