SUMMARY
Another BUSY day of player movement saw the following take place in our tracker:
Entries = 45 (-39 from day prior)
Signings = 162 (+15 from day prior)
Here is a look at the total breakdown from our Portal Tracker: Summary page:
With seven days left in this window, and we have seen well over 3,600 players enter our tracker. 35% have signed/committed, and we are most certainly in the thick of it. This is the first day that we have seen the entries decrease rather significantly, so we’ll see if that continues. Eventually, this article will be only about players signing and wha their situation looks like for 2026. We are not there yet.
WHAT AM I LOOKING AT HERE?
We are tracking roster talent churn. It’s important to note that this rating and ranking is 1.) portal-only and 2.) total roster talent churn. This means that we are counting every player who is coming and going to come up with this ranking. Later, we will dive into actual impacts by projecting rotational playing time. We had some questions about this and thought it important to describe in more detail.
TOP TEN :::::: view all >
Yes, the Indiana Hoosiers continue to dominate both on and off the field of play right now. They remain No. 1 on our talent churn rankings, though they are being threatened for that top spot by Kenny Dillingham and the Arizona State Sun Devils, who move into second place and are just under two points away from overtaking the Hoosiers. We have four new teams jumping up into the top ten with UCLA, Arkansas, Wake Forest and Kansas making appearances.
Texas A&M has fallen out of the top ten, but remains in striking distance at #12 (+9.1). Army bids farewell to its spot, and it will continue to slide into the middle of the pack with its service academy brethren. Two other Texas schools have fallen below the top ten from yesterday as TCU (now #11) and Houston (#14) fall slightly.
We now have 15 of 136 teams in positive talent churn.

TRENDS
Top Ten Trending UP:
The App State Mountaineers are doing work in the portal here in the early going and are tied for our biggest mover on the day. They added six players yesterday, topped by DL Aaron Clark [12.5] coming in from Towson. The rest may be considered roster fillers, but, as we know, players can develop quickly and turn into more than they are currently rated. OL Mac Walters [11.5] comes in from South Carolina, reuiting with head coach Dowell Loggains, a year later. He played sparingly for the Gamecocks, but can play interior or exterior and they’ll need some flexibility on the offensive line.
Washington State’s first-time head coach Kirby Moore is beginning to make some portal moves as they tied the Mountaineers for the biggest jump. Similarly, they were more quantity (four signing, no entries) than quality, with their top signee being DL Matyus McLain [12.5] from Idaho.
Top Ten Trending DOWN:
You see some big names on this list as both Ohio State and Michigan took some hits yesterday. The Buckeyes lost three players, including DB Malik Hartford [13.5]. The Wolverines’ got word that star RB Justice Haynes [16.] and DB TJ Metcalf [13.6] would be looking to move on, fueling their fall. Both will be just fine as you’ll see when we get to the ‘move to 2026’ as both have great depth — particularly in Columbus.

During the 2025 season, he moved into Pitt’s regular rotation and recorded 12 total tackles and one sack across 11 games. A former four-star recruit, he led Imhotep Charter to an undefeated state championship and was named the Philadelphia Public League MVP in high school. He is recognized for his “explosive” style and high motor, possessing three years of eligibility remaining. Nebraska is the primary school of focus, as he has an official visit scheduled there.LB Melvin Spriggs [14.1], leaving Akron
Coming off a breakout 2025 campaign, this redshirt sophomore from Fredericksburg, Virginia, has officially entered the transfer portal. Spriggs was a defensive cornerstone for the Zips, racking up 51 total tackles and 2.5 sacks in the previous season. He gained national attention in October 2025 with a massive 14-tackle, 3.5-tackle-for-loss performance against Buffalo that earned him MAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Standing 6’1” and weighing 225 pounds, he offers high-level production and physical toughness. He possesses two years of eligibility remaining for his next destination and he’ll be hearing from some big schools.WR Winston Watkins [13.9], leaving Ole Miss
Watkins is an explosive true freshman playmaker who appeared in all 15 games for the Rebels during the 2025 season. Measuring 5’11” and 185 pounds, he recorded 26 receptions for 373 yards and a touchdown, including a career-high 111-yard performance against Oklahoma. A former four-star recruit from Fort Myers, Florida, he originally committed to Colorado before flipping to Ole Miss. He is known for elite speed, boasting a 90-speed rating and a 4.5-second 40-yard dash. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.TE Hunter Welcing [13.7], leaving Northwestern

The 6’3”, 250-pound tight end developed into a key target for the Wildcats, catching 28 passes for 296 yards and two touchdowns. Originally a hockey player who only played three years of high school football, he bulked up from 220 pounds during his six seasons in Evanston. He was recognized as an Academic All-Big Ten selection and praised for his consistency as a physical run blocker. He enters the 2026 portal with one year left.DB TJ Metcalf [13.6], leaving Michigan
A cornerstone of the 2025 Wolverines secondary, Metcalf has entered the portal as a junior safety. He led the team with 778 defensive snaps last season, recording 58 total tackles, an interception, and four pass breakups. Originally a transfer from Arkansas, the 6’1”, 200-pound Alabama native is known for a physical downhill style and a 90-speed rating. His 2025 performance earned him All-Big Ten honorable mention honors. He has one final season of eligibility left and is drawing heavy interest from several SEC programs.DB Malik Hartford [13.5], leaving Ohio State
Hartford is a 6’2”, 200-pound safety from West Chester, Ohio, who entered the portal as a redshirt junior. Across three seasons in Columbus, he appeared in 27 games and recorded 20 career tackles, serving as a rotational player during the Buckeyes’ 2024 national championship run. He was a highly-rated four-star recruit and the No. 3 player in Ohio coming out of Lakota West High School. After appearing in only four games in 2025 to preserve eligibility following minor injuries, he is seeking a larger role elsewhere. He enters the portal with two seasons of eligibility remaining.DB Saboor Karriem [13.3], leaving Illinois
A long and fluid athlete from West Orange, New Jersey, Karriem has entered the 2026 transfer portal. Throughout his three seasons with the Illini, he recorded 30 total tackles and three pass deflections across 31 career appearances. Originally a four-star recruit, he is valued for his unique frame and multi-sport background in lacrosse, which contributed to his physical playing style. He will have one final season of eligibility remaining for his next destination.LB Tah’j Butler [13.3], leaving Georgia Tech
Butler enters the 2026 portal as a rising star following two productive years as a sophomore for the Yellow Jackets’ defense. Measuring 6’1” and 230 pounds, the New Orleans native compiled 34 total tackles and his first career interception against rival Georgia in late 2025. He earned a strong 71.7 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus after appearing in 324 defensive snaps during the 2025 campaign. K Jackson Kleather [17.6] -- Northwestern << from Bowling Green
Kleather joins the Wildcats after a highly productive junior year at Bowling Green, where he earned a spot on the 2025 All-MAC Second Team. The 5’ 10”, 185 lbs. kicker was reliable, converting 19 of 22 field goal attempts (86.4%) and hitting all 26 of his extra points. His performance included a career-long 56-yard field goal in the season opener. He is expected to compete for the starting job at Northwestern, as the position became a priority following the departure of Jack Olsen [16.9].DL Isaac Terrell [17.0] -- Iowa State << from Washington State
A powerful presence at 6’ 2” and 247 lbs., Terrell was a major breakout star for the Cougars’ defense in 2025. He led the team with seven sacks and 12 tackles for loss, adding a forced fumble and a safety. Christensen arrives in Boulder after just one season with New Mexico State. He made his collegiate debut as a true freshman and started to see more playing time, getting up to 11 games this year. He will likely compete for the starting punter role immediately.DL Jordan Ross [15.2] -- LSU << from Tennessee
Ross, a junior transfer from Tennessee, joins the Bayou Bengals’ defensive line rotation. He appeared in 10 games for the Volunteers in 2025, primarily in a rotational capacity (22 snaps/game). Ross finished the season with 15 total tackles and one sack. He brings valuable SEC experience and will vie for a spot in a talented but competitive LSU defensive front, battling with other transfers and returning players for significant playing time in a LB/DE hybrid role.WR Tre Richardson [15.0] -- Louisville << from Vanderbilt
The 5’ 9”, 180 lbs. wide receiver from Vanderbilt committed to Louisville following a solid 2025 season where he caught 38 passes for 450 yards and three touchdowns. He will join a competitive Cardinals receiving corps, looking to carve out a role as a reliable slot receiver and potentially as a return specialist.LB Aaron Alexander [14.8] -- North Texas << from Arkansas State
Alexander transfers to North Texas after one year at Arkansas State. The young linebacker is looking for an expanded role and more playing time with the Mean Green. A powerful running back, the 6’ 2”, 215 lbs. Ijeboi makes the move to Purdue from Minnesota. He piled up 438 yards on 98 carries as the primary backup to Darius Taylor. He looks to cash in and win a lead role in West Lafayette. He possesses good size for the position and could be a significant short-yardage or physical rushing threat. He also caught 12 passes out of the backfield and can be a reliable safety valve in the passing game. He has three years of eligibility remaining having just completed his redshirt freshman year.LB Garrick Ponder [14.7] -- Baylor << from Southern Miss
Ponder, a former Southern Miss Golden Eagle, transfers to Baylor as a sophomore. In his 2025 season, he recorded 23 total tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble in 13 games. Dall is a significant addition to UCF, bringing an impressive 6’ 7”, 260 lbs. frame. In his 2025 sophomore campaign with the Zips, he was a regular starter and a Third Team All-MAC selection.
