CFB DeptHITS: Friday, November 8
Let's take a look at some injury/status updates and other impactful news coming out over the last 24 hours...
We make hundreds of tweaks and edits to our 134 live FBS depth chart pages at CFBDepth.com — these include injury/status updates, playing time projections, coaching staffs and more. This feature is designed to pull up the most impactful news and bring it to you in a tidy package every day (but Sunday).
Penn State ::: Positive injury updates for the Lions includes DE Dani Dennis-Sutton who has tried to battle through injuries since a week nine injury has returned to practice in full. WR Kaden Saunders was last seen in a boot pre-week six against UCLA and has been missed since. He is a punt returner and could be an option in the passing game when healthy. Finally, LB Keon Wylie was seen on the field as well as he has been out since an injury in Spring, but would be likely a rotational depth player on defense if healthy. Source: Lions247
Arizona State ::: The Sun Devils are already potentially missing their catalyst on offense in RB Cam Skattebo and will be without a key linebacker on defense as Keyshaun Elliott is announced out this week with a stinger.
Oklahoma ::: The Sooners are finally getting healthy at wide receiver as both Deion Burks and Jalil Farooq are upgraded to probable for the week 11 tilt at Missouri. This could have big implications as the Sooners, behind reinstated starting QB Jackson Arnold look to turn the corner on a dismal offensive season thus far.
Florida Atlantic ::: RB Zuberi Mobley was announced out prior to kickoff of week 11 against East Carolina. He normally splits carries with C.J. Campbell when healthy, so Campbell carried most of the load with 11 totes for just 34 yards. Germari Sands played second fiddle with 8 carries for just 10 yards in another blowout loss for the Owls. Mobley will remain questionable moving forward.
Also, QB Cam Fancher was carted off the field and looks to have sustained a serious injury. He did return to the sidelines in a sling. He has been hurt off-and-on all season and it appears to have happened again. Backup Kasen Weisman came in and was okay, going 20/35 for 188 yards, 2 TD and an interception. He tucked and ran six times for 41 yards, making him the leading rusher on the team
Ole Miss ::: WR Jordan Watkins was upgraded to 'questionable' for week 11 after originally showing up at 'doubtful' on the initial report. This could be good news for this passing attack with quite a few injury designations lingering. That includes Tre Harris and Cayden Lee both also questionable to play in this week 11 showdown with Georgia.
LSU ::: The Tigers are expecting a weapon back in the passing game as Brian Kelly mentions that CJ Daniels is probable to play and Chris Hilton Jr. is expected to see more of a workload on Saturday after playing 24 snaps and reeling in two catches in his first action in 2024. Good news for this offense that will likely need it against Alabama on Saturday.
Appalachian State ::: The Mountaineers were without three players on Thursday evening, including RB Kanye Roberts, K Michael Hughes and both TE Eli Wilson and David Larkins. RBs Anderson Castle and Maquel Haywood were both qusetionable to play and made it in for just five combined snaps. That contributed to the 38-24 loss at Coastal Carolina.
New Mexico ::: Updates on two key players for the New Mexico dynamic offense: WR Naquari Rogers is back at practice and is trending towards a return in week 11. RB Javen Jacobs is not expected to play, so we are listing him as doubtful.
Texas ::: WR Johntay Cook has mutually agreed to leave the Longhorns program. Cook was a 5-star recruit with 8 catches in his true freshman season. He has been overshadowed by fellow true freshman Ryan Wingo and that could have something to do with his decision to search for playing time elsewhere in 2025.

If you were looking for ‘Game Cards’ this week, we won’t have them unfortunately. We found a glitch that we need to address before we publish them again this season. They should be back — hopefully in time for the post-season - but we’ll put them on the Availability Report as ‘doubtful’ for now. We are excited about them, but we feel we need to make sure they are perfect before continuing to publish them. Thanks for understanding.
Thanks for following along. We’ll have our Model plays for Saturday either tonight or early Saturday morning. Please subscribe and share with your friends.
